"Photo Gallery" Breakfast Fundraiser for Local Figure Skaters

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser: Alexis Donahoe and J.D. Rappold are local figure skaters who have qualified to compete in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in San Jose, California in late January. Local support helped with their expenses. Breakfast was Saturday, January 14th from 9 am to 11:30 am. Admission was by donation.

Alexis is a 17-year-old senior at Spring Valley High School where she maintains a 3.9 GPA and attends Marshall University with a 4.0 GPA. She has been skating since she was 5 years old and possesses her gold standard in moves in the field. J.D. is a 23-year-old senior at Marshall University where he majors in Biomechanics Exercise Science.

Alexis and J.D. have been skating together since June 2010. This past November they competed in the USFSA Sectionals in Jamestown, New York where they placed fourth, which qualified them to skate in the National Championships. They are currently one of the top 12 Novice Pairs in the nation. Their coaches are husband and wife team Marcy Hinzmann-Harris and Lee Harris. Marcy is a silver and bronze medalist at Nationals and competed in the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. Lee is the 2002 United States Junior Pair Champion and Junior World Team member.
